My wife and 12 year old son truly enjoyed our 2 hour walking tour around lower Manhattan with our Streetwise guide Patrick. Our flight was a little delayed arriving in NYC and Patrick was gracious and flexible about meeting us at our hotel in Midtown. We walked to Grand Central Station taking in a few notable buildings along the way and then rode the subway to Wall Street and then meandering through the lower east side neighborhoods. Patrick left us at Lomdardi's in Little Italy where we had some great pizza. Personally, I would have walked another hour or two listening to Patrick's stories about the history of New York, but my son doesn't yet have the stamina to walk that long. But even the 2-hour tour was packed with sights, sounds, and occasional smells (pleasant and not so pleasant) of NYC. Patrick was great! He engaged our son and my wife (both of whom aren't terribly interested in "museum stuff" or history) in conversation about all sorts of things - including NYC gossip, architecture, anarchists, and historical perspective. I highly recommending take a walking tour of NYC and using Streetwise. Everyone we interacted with, from booking our tour to Patrick (our guide), was professional and responsive!

Our hotel, the Edison, was one of a handful of hotels that offered free walking tours conducted by Streetwise New York. The first one led by "Patrick" was of Hells Kitchen and was excellent. He was very knowledgeable and had a great delivery. We were so pleased with the tour, we signed up the subsequent days. Each guide was very knowledgeable and each had a different style. Very glad we took advantage of this offering from the hotel. Tours lasted about 1-1/2 to 1-3/4 hours. Your just had to get yourself to the starting location and off you went. Would definitely do this again when in New York.

We took a tour with Streetwise New York Tours in September 2014 and had Sonya as our tour guide. What a wonderful day we all had! We found Sonya very personable and a treasure trove of information and facts about NYC. With her extensive knowledge of the city as well as great people skills, Sonya was able to gauge what we were most interested in and tailor our tour so that we got the most out of our 3 hours together. This wasn't necessarily easy as we were aged between 5 - 70! Sonya took us through a number of neighborhoods in lower Manhattan and shared many aspects of the history and development of what we were seeing. I highly recommend Streetwise New York tours to anyone visiting NYC, particularly if you are interested in gaining insight into the rich cultural history and texture that lies beneath this extraordinary city. Regards, Vanessa Shevelev
