Overview

We carry a maximum of 6 passengers so we can offer a more intimate manta ray snorkel experience than the larger "cattle boats" in Kona.

In addition to delivering a more private experience, our small group size allows for a better manta ray show. Your swim guide will tow your party to the most active areas of the snorkel site, as you hold onto a light board and enjoy the show. Larger groups on bigger boats are often required to stay next to the boat, and can't chase the manta ray action as we do. By locating the most active areas of the snorkel site, you'll have a higher chance of seeing more manta rays.

If you book all 6 seats on any trip, you will have your own private charter.

We hit the jackpot on an 8 pm trip with Eric and Capt. Pena. We saw 20-30 Manta Rays for 30 minutes. Gorgeous harmless creatures, just looping and looping all around us — even brushing up against us. Eric was a fountain of Manta facts. Pena was a good natured skipper after a long day at the helm. Wetsuits worked great, thinking was clockwork and all in all an amazing trip. Thanks Coral Reef Snorkeling for a great memory.

We had an amazing private charter with Peña and Eric! We did captain cook snorkel, manta viewing, and saw whales, dolphins, and a great sunset. One of the best nights we’ve ever had. Doing a private charter added an extra special touch. The crew was great with the kids and shared great information about the landscape and snorkeling. This was a really amazing experience.

This was an amazing experience from start to finish. The small group size made it very personalized. We did the sunset snorkel which was a great time to be on the water. Bottle nose dolphins and a mama and baby whale sighting on the way to the manta feeding area was an unexpected bonus. The manta dive itself was amazing from the minute we entered the water the mantas were active with our group. Our guide Eric shared a lot of useful knowledge about the mantas and made us comfortable in the water with the mantas. Definitely a must do experience while on the Big Island.
