I will start by saying the crew were greats the office staff not so much. We had red flag warnings due to high winds and swells but they wouldn’t cancel saying “if you don’t feel comfortable that is on you” The waves getting to the “cove” were huge and the ride was horribly bumpy. When we got to the cove by the airport the overwhelming smell of dead animal resulted in several people vomiting into the waters. The capt said “yeah that is from the FISH FARM down wind. We were in the water for half an hour and no mantas. They offered to take us 45 minutes south to see if we could find mantas but everyone (18 people) on the trip was feeling really sick and no one had any interest in going anywhere. If you have any type of motion sickness or are sensitive to smells I would suggest avoiding this trip. When we returned to our hotel, the concierge said you should have talked to me before you booked because we haven’t seen mantas north of the airport. They say they stand by their word of “you will see Mantas or we will take you on another trip”

The seas can be rough.. if you get motion sickness, please…please, take the necessary precautionary, it is called Dramamine. Get your butt to the drug store and take it prior to embarking on the boat. Swimming in vomit isn’t pleasant for anyone.

Phenomenal crew and phenomenal experience! We know that you take a chance with these tours involving wild animals, but we were so glad we took the risk and booked. The crew was absolutely great and they worked really hard to make sure everyone was safe and had a great experience. They were also very clear about not touching the mantas, which we appreciated and greatly respected. Our Captain had boundless enthusiasm and she really got everyone excited for the adventure. She did an amazing job with the boat and treated the crew well. The mantas, for their part, were incredible. The show we got was unlike anything we've ever seen -- they did multiple rolls right under us -- inches away at most! We had so much fun we talked about doing it again the night we left but decided it might be too much to do right before our evening flight -- but it was a tough call since we had such an amazing time. If you don't own a GoPro and you are doing this -- get one!
