Join him and explore 450+ years of living history. His stories will entertain and fascinate you as he shares a mix of the many "firsts", tales, & history that makes Dare County, "The Land of Beginnings". His stories of The Lost Colony, Pirates, The Underground Railroad, The Wright Brothers, and our modern era will delight everyone.He even shares personal stories of the real Mayberry, USA that inspired the classic TV series "The Andy Griffith Show". He shares his relationship with the celebrities and many space heroes who have made Manteo's history unique. This tour has been featured on PBS show "NC Weekend". "The Sheffield Star" newspaper in the UK said about the tour, "The historical significance of this small island in America is truly astonishing. It's a Must See when you are in the states!"

Former Chief of Police D’Ambra led a fascinating, unique tour of Manteo’s history. As another reviewer said, the chief told us that when you scratch the surface of history, you find more history. He’s a treasure trove of facts and stories about Manteo and the surrounding areas. This was a tour to remember. Wonderful.

The Chief is an amazing guide and truly made my trip. I am so glad that I found this tour and more importantly discovered that beautiful town that is full of so much to love!!! It was a small group and very intimate. I will be back to that town and the region not to play laser tag, but to enjoy the amazing history, the beauty, and the incredible hospitality.
