Overview

You will be safely brought deep into the 10,000 Islands Wildlife Refuge for a two-hour interpretive tour of the area led by a Florida Master Naturalist. Depending on the season, you can expect to encounter manatees, dolphins, sea turtles, bald eagles, ospreys, herons, egrets, pelicans, rosette spoonbills, as well as, numerous species of fish and shore birds.

What To Expect

TEN THOUSAND ISLANDS NWR

Consisting of two parts, The Dolphin, Birding and Shelling Tour is a wonderful experience for the whole family and a great introduction to the area. First a dolphin tour to search for dolphins and wading birds on a naturalist-led boating tour. Then a shelling tour to explore an uninhabited barrier island. You will learn about island’s beach dynamics and collect some of the wonderful shells on these remote islands.

Excellent experience from booking to getting back to shore with Captain Ed. He reached out to me after I had made a reservation on line for the only available excursion at 4 pm. He offered to change to an earlier reservation so the tide would be lower with dolphin feeding time and better shelling. Now thats CUSTOMER SERVICE!

Highlight of our trip! Highly recommend the 2 hour trip! We saw a ton of dolphins, birds and then went shelling on a private island! Everyone in the family loved it!

Overall our experience with Captain Joyce was fantastic! We were only in the Naples area for a short time and really wanted to take this boat tour. Fortunately for us Joyce had volunteered her time on Thanksgiving Day and we were able to go. She tailored the 2 hour trip around what was most important to her passengers and we all got to do something special. I highly recommend this company as well as Captain Joyce!
