Overview

You will be safely brought deep into the 10,000 Islands Wildlife Refuge for a two-hour interpretive tour of the area led by a Florida Master Naturalist. Depending on the season, you can expect to encounter manatees, dolphins, sea turtles, bald eagles, ospreys, herons, egrets, pelicans, rosette spoonbills, as well as, numerous species of fish and shore birds. You will visit an uninhabited barrier island where you can collect shells, sand dollars and other treasures!

Note: June through October, we suggest the morning experiences due to the weather.

What To Expect

Ten Thousand Islands National Wildlife Refuge

Consisting of two parts, The Dolphin, Birding and Shelling Tour is a wonderful experience for the whole family and a great introduction to the area. First a dolphin tour to search for dolphins and wading birds on a naturalist-led boating tour. Then a shelling tour to explore an uninhabited barrier island. You will learn about island’s beach dynamics and collect some of the wonderful shells on these remote islands.

Saw so many dolphins! Only had 5 people on my boat. Captain was friendly. Please note this trip includes a stop at the island for shell picking. Wasnt expecting that but if you have kids I guess it's a bonus.

A great day with beautiful dolphins, amazing vibes, and great hosts that made me feel welcomed despite the fact that I was there on my own as a solo. The shelling part was new for me, yet very fun. Would definitely do that again when I’m in the area, and recommend this guys for anyone who wants to have an amazing day and get some great photos and moments.

The trip was really fun! The tour guide was super friendly and we saw a lot of cool dolphins and even got to know their names and how to identify them! Was fun for the whole family and we loved collecting shells on the beach!
