This was a phenomenal tour. Our guide, Caleb, was super knowledgeable and shared fascinating information about Alaska on our drive to Mantanuska Glacier. Once we arrived, the actual glacier did not disappoint. You have the opportunity to walk 2.2 miles of the glacier while learning about the glacier, looking at the gorgeous blue ice, walking through ice caves, and even trying glacier water (it's awesome!). After the tour, and something I didn't even realize was included, was lunch at a cute restaurant with gorgeous views from above of the glacier, which was the perfect ending to the trip. Overall, the whole tour was absolutely fantastic and I would recommend it wholeheartedly to anyone who is interested in seeing the glacier up close and personal. The only thing I would warn others about is of the risks associated with hiking the glacier, which I was completely unaware of before the tour. If you don't follow the path set for that day, you are at a huge risk of falling into a crevice that could be hundreds of feet down. It's a little scary learning about this as you are on your way there, and I wish I had known in advance. But as long as you follow the trail, it is perfectly safe and I want to note that I felt completely safe while I was on the glacier.
