This was an amazing trip. Lori from 907 was a wonderful and gracious host. She made the reservation process painless and was easy to communicate with. I accidentally booked for the wrong day and once I let her know, she corrected the problem on the spot. She drove us (it was just my wife and me) up to the glacier in a really nice and comfortable van loaded with snacks and water bottles and stopped for ā€œbio-stopā€ on the way up and back. She is very knowledgeable about Alaska and the glacier and answered all of our questions, and in truth, she gave us a geological history lesson. She also pointed out the areas on the drive to watch for Moose and sure enough we saw several. The actual glacier experience is Amazing and the highlight of our Alaska trip. Our guide at the Glacier has a formal education in Glaciers and Remote Sensing and brought a very high level of expertise that we did not expect. Being out on, and is some cases, IN the glacier was like nothing I had ever experienced in my life. We were also lucky enough to have a beautiful day for our visit. We were out for a couple of hours. I would say you need to be in moderately decent physical shape to do the Glacier. There was a little climbing and squatting and the walk back is slightly up hill, but that changes all the time because the glacier is a living and moving thing. After the glacier, Lori took us over to the Long Rifle Lodge and we had a nice lunch there and just sat and talked with her more about life, Alaska and life in Alaska. The ride home was as nice as the ride up, with more Alaska ā€œlessonsā€ and just fun chats with our new friend, Lori. I highly recommend Lori and 907 tours. If we ever come back to Alaska, she will be the first person we call! PS: I will edit this later and add some pics.
