Maui Whale-Watching Tour by Raft from Kihei

Overview
Enjoy a prime opportunity to see humpback whales as they migrate through Hawaiian waters from Alaska between December and May. Setting out from Kihei, cruise to an area off the southern end of Maui with one of Hawaii's highest whale populations. You’ll travel in a large, sturdy raft that provides a speedy ride so you can maximize your viewing time. Learn about the whales from informative commentary provided by an onboard naturalist on this tour limited to 20, a smaller group size than most whale tours.

We would highly recommend this trip. The smaller boat made it very easy to move quickly when whales were spotted in the distance. Didn’t find that to be the case on previous trips on large vessels. And the Kehei launch site is closer to Wailea, if you’re staying in that area. Our guides were very informative and kept everyone well-informed of what we were seeing. And we saw a lot of whales! Including two breaches!

We have went on over 40 whale watching trips over the years. This was one of the best. Small boat is very nice. Danni and Jake were great very knowable. They found a pod that kept us entertained Special trip.

Awesome trips three times on this visit. Thanks so much to Nick and Nick, Alie (spelling?) and Danielle. Great coverage of the bay with a knowledgeable crew and the best whale watching to date.
