Really nice folks, saw lots of.whales, very knowledgeable crew about where the whales were located and about the species, local geography. Recommended.

The Red Line zodiacs fit about 14 people and are just right for seeing whales from water level. The captain is careful about speed and keeps the legal distance but also scoped out likely places to find whales. We saw a group of males and several mother and baby duos. Katie, the come-along naturalist, provided good clear information, The 90 minute trip was just right. Go on the 7 a.m. trip when the bay is calmer.

This was our first time taking a boat trip out of Kihei so we were a bit confused at first by the sight of the public boat ramp as the departure point. But once we got to the raft, we were warmly greeted by staff and easily found a seat on the small raft. Having been on bigger rafts and catamarans for whale watching, we enjoyed this trip the most. We liked the intimacy of being with a smaller group and the ability of the boat to reach places more quickly. We saw plenty of whales, up close, and especially enjoyed a particularly active baby whale! If you don't have experience being in a small boat and prefer more amenities, this may not be the right choice for you. We recommend it for anyone else, though!
