A well organised tour from pickup to return. Our drivers and guides Rusty and Rij were well informed and knowledgeable on time and considerate to their clients. the tour bus was comfortable and clean. You stop at the information centre at 9000ft to acclimatize for half hour. Take advantage of the restroom facilites, look around the shop and the mini museum. The drive to the summit is a futher 45 minutes, but once clear of the clouds the sights and views are stunning. Then comes the sunset. at 4207m altitude. Not many people experience altitude. Take your time and enjoy, your in a loaned warm coat and gloves. our visit was down to below freezing. OK for a short 45minute visit. Then back to 9000ft for the stargazing, hot choclate and snacks. You probably will not see another night sky as you will at this location. Take loads of photos but take time to look with your own eyes. Well done and thank you. Your customers from the UK.

Our family had an amazing experience on this guided tour. Our guide Gavin gave us a really nice introduction to Hawaiian history and culture on the way up, and the view at the summit during sunset was breathtaking to say the least. Be prepared for a bumpy drive though! We were unable to stay on the Mauna for stargazing due to the weather, but the guides were kind enough to drive to an open field at the base of the Mauna where we had a spectacular view of the star-studded night sky, accented by the majesty of the Milky Way. We really enjoyed learning about the constellations and astral bodies that guide Anna pointed out to us, and the portraits Gavin took of us against the backdrop of the Milky Way were truly beautiful. You cannot say you’ve experienced Hawaii unless you’ve been up the Mauna!

Well informed staff who looked after us well. Great star gazing but altitude was tougher than we thought it would be
