A very expensive ticket for very minimal artifacts or materials. Perhaps a $5 ticket, $17 per person is highway robbery what is here. Skip it and google Mel Fisher instead.

I'm a little conflicted in this review. I expected this museum to be about Mel Fisher & family, & showcasing their discoveries (like the Mel Fisher Treasure Museum in Sebastian). It is NOT. So, I was a bit disappointed there. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find many exhibits I did not expect. I particularly appreciated the gallery about slave transport & the gallery about piracy. My husband's favorite was the gallery about Kennedy & the Cuban Missile Crisis. Had I known the museum was more focused on maritime history in general & less focused on the Fisher family, I probably would not have gone. The price is a bit high for what we got, & it appeared that a portion of the downstairs was being renovated (we could hear saws & other construction noises & the downstairs galleries had an incomplete feel). But, all-in-all, I was pleased with what we saw & learned here.

I was very excited to see the museum and the displays of all the treasure and learn the Mel Fisher story. None of that happened. Very little treasure was on display compared to the hordes that were discovered and little to no background on the process to discovery. There were displays for the Cuban missile crisis and a history of slaves the Spanish forced. All and all not really a Mel Fisher museum in my opinion.
