Overview

Get the complete Memphis experience on this all-inclusive city tour. It’s a part history tour, part attraction hopping, part food tour that will introduce you to everything that makes Memphis special. You’ll visit World Famous Beale Street (the Home of the Blues); the Lorraine Motel, to see the balcony where Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was assassinated; the Rock 'n' Soul Museum or Edge Motor Museum (if option selected); Lansky Brothers Clothing Store, clothier to Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, and B.B. King (and still one of the most stylish places to shop!); and get a barbecue tasting at one of the best barbecue joints in the city!

Along the way, we'll show you our favorite Memphis sights, including the Mississippi River, Victorian Village, St. Jude's Children's Research Hospital, old Cotton Row, and Court Square, the lovely and historic heart of 19th century Memphis.

Within a few blocks there are four different parking garages, and several open-air parking lots. The closest garage to our location (just two blocks away) is at 149 Peabody Place between Second Street and BB King Blvd., next to the Hampton Inn. You can try your luck with on-street metered parking, too, on Second Street just south of Beale; on Beale between Front and Second; or along Peabody Place from Front to Fourth Street.

Great time! Joel was our tour guide and he was so personable, and full of information and back stories. Joel was a native of Memphis, a musician, and very knowledgeable about so much of the city. We went to the Peabody Hotel to see the ducks, saw many of the old businesses and. Holdings downtown. We had lunch at Central Bar BQ, and walked over to the Lorraine Motel, and the Civil Right Museum to hear history of Martin Luther King Jr. This is a great overview of the downtown, and a fun tour to get answers to a lot of your questions.

Definitely not worth the $42. Bus was dirty and smelled of garbage. We spent a majority of the time waiting for a small lunch that was cold. Tour guide did know history but did not have a schedule that allowed us to see everything on the proposed list. Not recommended at all.
