This is one of the highlights in our Alaska Cruise. The team of people were very helpful from the get go. Although we pass through a portion of the river devastated by the recent flooding in Juneau, it is still a must do adventure to be in. Our guide - “Larson” took out our hesitation or fear of “falling” into the water - and made us just sit back, relax and enjoy the ride (while he paddles). He gave us some funny anecdotes and a few historical facts about Juneau and gave some insights to know/see along the route. And finally, he made river rafting a more fun and enjoyable experience to be had. Kudos to the team for the snack after and we highly recommend this tour to anyone looking for a fun and moderate adventure in Juneau.

Our rafting guide, Jason, was terrific! Lots of geology, conservation and history delivered with humor and eloquence. He couldn’t take credit for the perfect sunny day, but he helped us appreciate our luck by describing the typical weather on the glacial lake and the Mendenhall river. It was heartwarming to hear about how the rafting guides are working to clean up debris swept into the river by the recent flood. At the end of the float, Capt Johnson helped us off and Beck graciously helped family groups get photos with Jason. If you are in the front of the raft, you WILL get wet. My husband and I volunteered because we had jackets. Lesson learned: zip up neck and sleeves before the white water!

Had a wonderful tour with our guide Gentry who provided us with a lot of information about the glacier, river and wildlife. We were also fortunate to have a sunny day. A unique experience- highly recommend.
