We had a wonderful experience on our liquid Alaska tour of the Mendenhall Glacier, and Abby and Spencer were amazing guides! We started our day with Spencer picking 9 of us up (so awesome to have a small group) at the cruise ship dock. As he drove, he shared information and history about Juneau with us. We arrived at the lake and Spencer and Abby geared us up with boots and rain gear. And gave us dry bags with snacks inside (make sure you eat a substantial breakfast that day). Abby gave us a paddling tutorial in the lot, then we were on our way to the Glacier in our canoe. The paddle out was scenic and Abby gave us some great information about the plants and wildlife in the area. They also gave plenty of breaks from paddling along the way. We arrived at the Glacier and it was incredible! You don't really realize how big they are until you get to walk on it. They gave us crampons to put over or boots once we are at the base of the Glacier. We were also lucky enough to have the Glacier to ourselves! They guided us up the safest route. We were amazed to see how blue the ice is in the cravasses and especially in the ice cave we got to go into! I was nervous about the cave (slight claustrophobia) and almost didn't go in, but I'm glad I decided to after all. The color and the smoothness of the ice in the cave is amazing! I hope if you are reading this review, you decide to book this tour. It was truly one of the most incredible things I have ever done in my life, and who knows how long these amazing glaciers will be around for us to explore.

What an amazing review- THANK YOU! The Mendenhall Glacier/blue ice is something everyone has to see for themselves as photos do not do it justice. We provide plenty of snacks, but this is a very active tour, so eating beforehand definitely helps. Our guides do an excellent job of giving out paddling tips and instructions so everyone may enjoy themselves. We are so happy to share this experience with you.

As the title says, this was truly the adventure of a lifetime. Canoeing across Mendenhall Lake was beautiful, but the real treat was getting to climb around the glacier itself - and our group of 10 were the only people on it at the time. Apparently only 50 people can do it per day. We were lucky enough to find a massive ice cave to enter and it was, by far, the coolest thing I've ever done. Pictures do not do it justice at all. It was unbelievable! Our guides Spencer and Abbey were the best. Super knowledgeable, funny and skilled. They made sure we were always safe while taking us across some pretty serious terrain in order to access the coolest areas. You can trust them completely. To sum it up, not only would I recommend the Liquid Alaska Mendenhall Glacier Ice Adventure, I would say you shouldn't even consider anything else for your time in Juneau.
