Mendenhall Glacier Ice Adventure Tour

Overview
Explore Mendenhall Glacier on this exclusive adventure tour into the Alaskan Wilderness. Your expert guides will lead you on a journey across Mendenhall Lake where you will paddle together with a small group past icebergs, giant waterfalls, and wildlife. On your way to the ice, you will be surrounded by breathtaking scenery of mountain peaks nestled in the Tongass National Forest. Upon landing the canoe at a remote beach site, your guides will safely lead you on an interpretive hike around the rocky surfaces located directly in front of the glacier. Here you will discover the magnificent ice features up close. Views of specific glacial features like Ice Caves and Moulins cannot be guaranteed due to the nature of the constantly moving ice. This was the best experience of our entire Alaska cruise!! We had an awesome time canoeing to the glacier, trekking on the glacier, and getting to experience an ice cave! Our guides Ryan and Abby were amazing and kept us entertained and informed throughout the trip. This tour was the best way to enjoy Juneau while our Norwegian Jewel docked there. We highly highly recommend this tour as it is the best way to experience a glacier! This tour exceeded our expectations, we had so much fun and got to experience the Mendenhall Glacier in the best possible way!

Thank you so much! The small team here at Liquid Alaska Tours works very hard to try and provide the best Alaskan excursions possible, have the greatest value, and provide a unique experience you’ll never forget. It sounds like you had a really special trip, not all tours are treated with being able to see ice caves. The glacier moves and melts so rapidly that new features and routes are constantly forming and disappearing, making every tour unique. Thanks again for the review. We are thrilled to hear that the trip exceeded your expectations!

Spencer and Casey were excellent guides. Joking around and having fun, while also concerned with everyone's safety. We have a family of 5- ages 17,16 and 11, mix of boys and girls. They all enjoyed it. I found muscles I haven't used in a long time paddling the canoe, but it was well worth it! Not many people can say they've walked on a glacier! We had amazing weather (sunny and low 70's). Layers are good as it was windy on the glacier, but high-quality, waterproof outer layers were provided. I brought a DSLR camera with a big lens and was able to carry it with me on the glacier with no issues. It's not a rigorous "hike", just a rocky walk to the glacier. Crampons made the glacier walk much easier. Thanks for an amazing experience!

Amy, thanks for sharing your experience on the Mendenhall Glacier Ice Adventure. We’re glad to hear you had a great time with the guides, and got beautiful weather to top it off. Great tip to bring warm layers to the glacier, because even though we provide waterproof/windproof shells, the wind created on hotter days can be a bit chilly. Cameras are always welcome, so we’re glad you took advantage of the drybag and brought it along on the canoe ride. We would love to see those photos, so if you do post on social outlets make sure to tag @liquidalaskatours Thanks once again for joining us, and sharing your thoughts, we hope to adventure with you again!
