My wife and I took our 2 daughters (16 and 13) on this tour. Our guides, Abby and Ryan, were awesome! The perfect mix of safety and entertainment! We had a strong group of rowers, so the trip out was quick. We then made our way up onto the glacer, and were treated to a trip down into an ice cave! Highly recommended, and the best way to see the beauty of Alaska! Thanks Abby and Ryan, for an awesome day!

Thank you for the praise, Abby and Ryan certainly do make a dynamic guiding team! We're constantly amazed by the features the glacier lets us explore and we're happy your family chose Liquid Alaska for your adventure in Juneau!

We booked this tour during our cruise's stop in Juneau. It really was the highlight of our whole trip to Alaska. The canoeing against the wind and current was the most strenuous part or the excursion, but there were plenty of breaks and good instruction and guiding. Once we got to land we luckily had the chance to go into a large cave (this isn't always an opportunity, glaciers change) and walk a good distance up the glacier. With the crampons on, this was easier than we thought it would be. It was more about concentrating on footing and balance than any strenuous hiking. Our guides Joey and Abby were great. Very entertaining and clearly very safety conscious. The provided was high quality. Wear good layers but don't worry about what shoes you bring (you take them off for their boots).

We provide Xtratuf rain boots for all of our guests to ensure your feet stay dry while getting in and out of the canoe, walking through streams, etc. Abby and Joey are an excellent pair that take great pride in being able to show off the glacier's ever changing features. We are so thankful you enjoyed your day with them.

This was our BEST excursion during our Alaskan cruise. We booked all our excursions prior to the cruise and used outside tour groups like Liquid Alaska. You’re in the states so it’s all safe and reputable. So with this tour, Grant (tour guide) was right out side on the dock waiting for us to get off the boat. And we were promptly escorted to Mendenhall lake to begin the adventure. They provided all the necessary equipment and some snacks. We were in a 16 people canoe so the paddling was not too rigorous. Great view of the Mendenhall Lake and the waterfall and then eventually the glacier. On the hike on the glacier, we were able to see 2 ice caves. One of them was amazing. The highlight of our entire Alaskan cruise. Ryan, our other guide, explored a 50 feet 40 degree ravine and found a huge ice cave. According to him, probably only about 2 days former cave. After he came up the ravine and asked if we all wanted to adventure down to see it, of course, we all said yes!!! It was a tad treacherous to go down the ravine but the blue ice cave is what we all wanted to see. Grant and Ryan told us that these ice caves usually last about 5-6 days (maybe more) but it will collapse at some point because of the melting glacier so we were very fortunate to see one. And it was amazing to see it. Thank you Grant and Ryan. You made our trip. And on our way back to the starting point, we encountered 2 beavers sun bathing.
