Mendenhall Glacier Ice Adventure Tour

Overview
Explore Mendenhall Glacier on this exclusive adventure tour into the Alaskan Wilderness. Your expert guides will lead you on a journey across Mendenhall Lake where you will paddle together with a small group past icebergs, giant waterfalls, and wildlife. On your way to the ice, you will be surrounded by breathtaking scenery of mountain peaks nestled in the Tongass National Forest. Upon landing the canoe at a remote beach site, your guides will safely lead you on an interpretive hike around the rocky surfaces located directly in front of the glacier. Here you will discover the magnificent ice features up close. Views of specific glacial features like Ice Caves and Moulins cannot be guaranteed due to the nature of the constantly moving ice. We were fortunate enough to have Grant and Ben as our guides for the canoe and glacier hike trip and they absolutely rocked it! They had a ton of great and knowledgeable info and took the time to talk and answer everyone’s questions about any topic. The weather was perfect and the scenery is indescribable. To see a glacier under your feet and in front of you is a really different way to get to enjoy and learn about Alaska. Can’t put into words how well planned and amazing this trip is. Thanks again Ben and Grant!!!

We did the trip with Joey and Spencer and they were awesome guides. They kept the energy high and did a great job spacing our breaks. Walking on the glacier was a wonderful experience and we felt safe the entire time. The canoeing was defintiely an arms, shoulder, and upper back workout for me, but I enjoyed the full experience nonetheless! It also seemed like the entire staff was very helpful. I left my go pro remote at the lake and they were very kind and returned it to me in the city!

Ryan and Joey were excellent tour guides providing interesting facts and humor along the way. They had all the gear needed and great snacks (including trail mix with M&M’s). We had beautiful weather and some amazing scenery and even saw an otter, eagles, and an arctic tern. We spent more time on the ice than other tour groups that were out there and we got to see an ice cave. Be sure to ask Ryan for a Mendenhall Mocha at the end of the day!
