Took Excursion June 14th with awesome guides Ryan and Grant who are both very knowledgeable, helpful and enjoyable to be around. As the title of the review states, it is a must do. Keep in mind, you do need to paddle and will have a moderate hike on the glacier. Neither is difficult, just be prepared to paddle for about an hour each way, taking paddle breaks every few minutes. The canoe is very stable (not like the small aluminum canoes some may be familiar), so don't worry about the canoe tipping over. All equipment is provided. You don't need to bring special shoes because boots are provide. Dress in layers as it is cooler on the glacier and warmer when you are paddling. Bring gloves and a knit hat too. As for the glacier...awesome! You cannot appreciate the beauty of the glacier until you experience it first hand. Just do it!

We took this excursion while on our cruise of the Inside Passage with Holland America. Could not have asked for more!! Another group who had also booked this excursion cancelled, which meant without enough people this was possibly not going to happen for us if they couldn't get someone else booked. Abby was determined to make this trip happen and was absolutely awesome! She worked hard to get someone else booked so that we were able to have an excursion of a lifetime. Ben & Spencer our guides were the best!!!!! These two made it so much fun, had awesome personalities, knowledge and experience. We were very comfortable with the care and safety that was taken during our entire trip with them. The paddle to the glacier was fantastic and to be able to hike on the glacier is something we will never forget. This excursion is truly a once in a lifetime experience. I would highly recommend Liquid Alaska. Their staff helped make this an unforgettable experience.

This was a great tour! Your arms will get a workout on the lake canoe portion. I'm a 34 yo, who exercises regularly, and my arms got through the paddling, but welcomed each break we had on the lake lol! The walk on the glacier was not strenuous, but it was a little precarious. You wear crampons to help ensure you don't slip, and there were quite a few areas you really need to watch your step to avoid falling. Even so, the ice is unpredictable. I wouldn't recommend it for kids or anyone who isn't decently stable/have good balance and is careful/aware of surroundings. My husband and I loved this excursion. Thank you!

We use canoes instead of kayaks to get out to the glacier as everyone is in one boat so it is a team effort to get to the glacier. Our guides are on the ice everyday and they love paddle breaks as well. Not only does it give your arms a rest, but it also allows you to soak in fact that you are sitting on a glacier-fed lake in the middle of Alaska. Beautiful. We are so happy you enjoyed yourselves. Thank you.
