Explore Mendenhall Glacier on this exclusive adventure tour into the Alaskan Wilderness. Your expert guides will lead you on a journey across Mendenhall Lake where you will paddle together with a small group past icebergs, giant waterfalls, and wildlife. On your way to the ice, you will be surrounded by breathtaking scenery of mountain peaks nestled in the Tongass National Forest. Upon landing the canoe at a remote beach site, your guides will safely lead you on an interpretive hike around the rocky surfaces located directly in front of the glacier. Here you will discover the magnificent ice features up close. Views of specific glacial features like Ice Caves and Moulins cannot be guaranteed due to the nature of the constantly moving ice. What To Expect

Mendenhall Glacier

Guests will spend 60-90 minutes hiking around the rocky moraine and exploring near the Mendenhall Glacier.

ABBY and JOEY made this glacier tour experience THE BEST! Paddling the canoe to the glacier was fun and really easy. Plenty of wildlife and waterfall viewing, but the REVEAL of Mendenhall Glacier at water level was BEYOND AMAZING! And just when you thought the tour wouldn’t get better ... IT GOT BETTER... WALKING on the glacier was AWESOME! Abby and Joey made sure we knew all the safety stuff first and then off we went with mini-spikes on our feet. The blue ice was SPECTACULAR. Mini icebergs floating by as we paddled home were pretty cool too. We raved about this tour days later to folks asking about glacier tours. Don’t forget to ask for ABBY & JOEY as your guides. They made the whole experience extra SPECIAL! Thanks again, guys! p.s. an iced shout out to Abby’s mom!

We always go through a local outfitter when we travel. We love the personalization of those types of excursions and this one did not disappoint! Ryan and Casey were a great team! They tailored the trip for the crew we had and spent time explaining everything and showing us the wonder that is Mendenhall. Would highly recommend!

We booked 3 exciting and adventurous excursions on our cruise, and this was our absolute favorite and well worth the expense. Ryan and Grant were both very knowledgeable and professional. Ryan has such a friendly, outgoing personality that I couldn't help but laugh at his dad jokes (he's a natural at them 😉). Being able to hike up to and walk on the glacier was a truly amazing experience, so much better than just viewing from a boat. From the commentary\information given by Grant, you could really tell how much he respects the awesome beauty of this glacier. Both Glacier Grant and Receding Ryan were a delight to spend the day with!
