What To Expect

This was one of the most exciting and breathtaking excursions I have ever experienced. It was amazing even to just look at the glacier. We were able to canoe across the lake, enter the ice caves, and trek the glacier. Our group consisted of family members ranging from ages 25-58. The canoe ride was a workout if you are not used to paddling and the trek was not the easiest, however, we all managed to make it through all while having an excellent time. Our guides, Paul and Allison, were great! They always made sure we were safe and comfortable throughout the excursion. This is definitely an excursion you do not want to miss if you are cruising through Juneau. One of my highlights was being able to drink fresh glacier water streaming down into the ice caves.

We were a bit skeptical when we had booked this Excursion not because of the how it would eventually turn out but because of the fact that we did not book this though the Cruiseline and there is always a risk of being late. By the way we booked Mendenhall Ice Cave Adventure Tour through Viator since it was not featured with the cruiseline. We are so glad we booked this amazing tour. It is easily the best tour we have been on so far. The excursion included Canoeing and Walking on the glacier and every bit of it was fun. It would only be fair to say that we had such wonderful guides with us "Micah and Josiah". They were knowledgeable, accommodating and funny at times. Would highly recommend the company and the tour if you are visiting Juneau.

We did the Mendenhall Glacier Ice Adventure Tour and it exceeded all expectations! Our guides were genuine, caring and hilarious. The canoe ride to the glacier was stunning and the glacier hike was awesome. We were thrilled to do something that the rest of the tourists on the cruises didn't choose as it involves a bit of exercise. Highly recommend doing this trip, it's a once in a lifetime.
