Mendenhall Glacier Lake Canoe Tour

Overview
Experience the beauty of the Alaskan wilderness on this 3.5-4 hour adventure to the Mendenhall Glacier. This adventure starts off at the cruise ship docks as an expert guide will transfer the guaranteed, small group on a narrated 30 minute journey to the West Glacier boat launch in the Tongass National Forest. Guests gear up in top quality waterproof gear and after a quick paddle lesson, will launch the canoe onto the Mendenhall Lake to start the journey. Surrounded by steep cliffs filled with Arctic terns, mountain goats, porcupines, and other wildlife; enjoy the serenity of this adventure deep into Alaska. Feel the cool brisk air coming off the glacier as the guide safely navigates the canoe to the best viewpoints of the blue crevasses and seracs on the toe of the Mendenhall Glacier. Be one of the few to step away from the crowds and get face to face with glacier. This Tour is canoeing only and DOES NOT INCLUDE hiking on a glacier.

What an amazing experience to get so close to the Mendenhall glacier! Kevin was a phenomenal guide with great experience, knowledge and really fun. Liquid Alaska took care of all our needs, the gear was clean, and service even better. Being able to canoe directly in front of Nugget Falls was so cool! We highly recommend Liquid Alaska to really make the most out of your visit to Juneau!!

Mike and Kelby were absolutely fabulous! The tour was great. Both guides were very knowledgeable and very well trained and were extremely careful. The views are breathtaking - the mountains and glacier are spectacular. The canoeing and the hiking were not too strenuous (I am 60 and fat and still did it). Highly recommended!

This tour by Liquid Alaska was phenomenal!! They are a small company and are very personal. Great attention to detail! Waterproof pants, jacket and gloves are provided as well as a small waterproof bag containing water and a snack. Our guide Kevin was amazing!! He freely shared his knowledge of the region with us and was personable and funny!! He made the trip so enjoyable! He got us so close to the glacier and repositioned the canoe several times for optimal photo ops! We did this tour a few days before Ironman Alaska and I was a bit apprehensive around the strenuous rowing before the race but, no worries, it was an easy paddle and actually enjoyable!! I highly recommend this tour and the tour guide Kevin !
