Mendenhall Glacier Lake Canoe Tour

Overview
Experience the beauty of the Alaskan wilderness on this 3.5-4 hour adventure to the Mendenhall Glacier. This adventure starts off at the cruise ship docks as an expert guide will transfer the guaranteed, small group on a narrated 30 minute journey to the West Glacier boat launch in the Tongass National Forest. Guests gear up in top quality waterproof gear and after a quick paddle lesson, will launch the canoe onto the Mendenhall Lake to start the journey. Surrounded by steep cliffs filled with Arctic terns, mountain goats, porcupines, and other wildlife; enjoy the serenity of this adventure deep into Alaska. Feel the cool brisk air coming off the glacier as the guide safely navigates the canoe to the best viewpoints of the blue crevasses and seracs on the toe of the Mendenhall Glacier. Be one of the few to step away from the crowds and get face to face with glacier. This Tour is canoeing only and DOES NOT INCLUDE hiking on a glacier.

my family and i came to alaska for my 16th, as each of us throughly enjoys a multitude of outdoor activities such as hiking, boating, fishing, camping, and in this case, canoeing. being able to come here has been on my bucket list for a long time, as it is a different climate and environment from where i am from (virginia). going on this tour was a surprise for me, and i must say i enjoyed it beyond words. my family and i have made great memories today. our guides were matt and paul. i enjoyed spending time with them, as they were polite, funny, and encouraging, and made the environment between the group and them so great and fun. i donā€™t know many people that say they could come here for their 16th, but it sure is super rad and iā€™ll never forget it. i recommend this tour if you are interested in a little bit of history, canoeing, the outdoors, glaciers, geology, and so much more. so fun for everyone. thank you guys

Excellent canoe tour! We were part of a great tour group led by Kelsie and she guided us to get as close as possible to Mendenhall glacier. It was interesting to hear all about the lake, the glacier, the mountains and the wild life during the tour. We really appreciated how Ryan helped us to decide whether kayaking or canoeing would be the right fit for our family and since we could get so much closer to the glacier in a canoe, it was the right choice for us. The North Face and Rei gear was top notch, we were warm the entire trip. Kelsie was delightful and we enjoyed hearing the stories she shared about Romeo and her experiences living in Juneau this summer.
