Mendenhall Glacier Lake Canoe Tour

Overview
Experience the beauty of the Alaskan wilderness on this 3.5-4 hour adventure to the Mendenhall Glacier. This adventure starts off at the cruise ship docks as an expert guide will transfer the guaranteed, small group on a narrated 30 minute journey to the West Glacier boat launch in the Tongass National Forest. Guests gear up in top quality waterproof gear and after a quick paddle lesson, will launch the canoe onto the Mendenhall Lake to start the journey. Surrounded by steep cliffs filled with Arctic terns, mountain goats, porcupines, and other wildlife; enjoy the serenity of this adventure deep into Alaska. Feel the cool brisk air coming off the glacier as the guide safely navigates the canoe to the best viewpoints of the blue crevasses and seracs on the toe of the Mendenhall Glacier. Be one of the few to step away from the crowds and get face to face with glacier. This Tour is canoeing only and DOES NOT INCLUDE hiking on a glacier.

Absolutely beautiful paddle and hike, way better than just going to the pavilion to look at the glacier from farther away. Bryce and Kevin were amazing tour guides and allowed us some extra time to hike around because everyone arrived early. The guides were very friendly and easy to talk to also.

Unbelievable experience! We booked this trip for the adventure of canoeing but also to have the best chance at a great view of the glacier, a main reason for our trip to Alaska. Iā€™m so so grateful we chose this excursion rather than seeing the glacier from the Visitor Center or via a Hike or even a Helicopter. The view was stunning - far far far better than from the distance of the visitor center given how much the glacier has receded from view since our first trip in 2014. We paddled straight up to both the glacier and the stunning falls - one in a lifetime views. Our amazing tour guide Kevin was unbelievably knowledgeable about the area and itā€™s history, the glacier and Alaska in general. Our kids asked a million questions and he had answers for everything. We felt super safe with his training, and he made the experience so much fun!!!! Would take a tour with Kevin as our guide anywhere!!! 5 stars on all fronts!!!!!

The whole experience was so well done. Matt & Bryce were excellent guides their banter and jokes really made the whole trip for us. Definitely the best way to experience the Mendenhall.
