This was a great tour that not many people choose. Go for it because it is well worth it. Our guides were Bryce and Lena. They were such a joy to spend the day with. They allowed plenty of time for pictures, took pictures for anyone who asked, and were willing to answer all our questionsā€”knowledgeable, friendly, fun, and unique views of the ice field, glacier, and icebergs. Our tour was 12:30-6 pm. We met at the tram and then took a 25-minute van ride to the lake where we were given water-resistance gloves, coat, pants, helmet, and rainboots. Also given snacks and water in waterproof bags. Both Bryce and Lena were involved in giving us our safety brief before getting in the water with our 12-person canoe. It was a 2.5-mile canoe ride (everyone rowed but was given several breaks along the way) to the glacier. We walked around the glacier and were shown several different angles-above, in front, from the side, and even from underneath. We walked for a total of about 1.5 miles and it an amazing tour. I was in awe the entire time and can't believe we were that close and that is was REAL. We rowed the 2.5 miles back to the parking lot where we took off our borrowed gear and were offered a variety of hot beverages. We all boarded the van for our 25-minute ride back to Juneau by the cruise ships and tram. It was such a fun, beautiful, and once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Bryce and Lena were top-notch guides. I would recommend them if you can. Thank you to both of them for a wonderful day. All you need on this tour is a camera and depending on the weather, a couple of layers of clothes. The wind is pretty strong over the river and at the glacier. Bryce and Lena-I hope you both enjoy the rest of your season. You are both rock-stars:)

This was my first experience taking a canoe tour and it was absolutely amazing! Paul and Kelsie were the perfect host for this experience. If you want to really experience seeing the glacier up close I highly recommend this for an adventurous person.

This is a great way to get up close and personal with a glacier. Not many people were out in the lake so we felt like we had it all to ourselves. Matt and Mike were fun and helpful. Highly recommend. They provide waterproof gear including boots rain pants and raincoats.

Nothing better than being one of the few boats floating silently in a the Mendenhall Lake! That's awesome you had a great time with Matt and Mike, they are quite the comedy duo out there!
