Mesa Verde National Park Half Day Tour

Overview

Come take a half day tour and see the highlights of Mesa Verde National Park. We’ll squeeze 700 years of history into a 6-hour round trip tour (3 hours’ total drive time, 3 hours in the park) with a professional guide that is passionate about giving you the most informative experience possible. This tour will include a stop at several iconic cliff dwellings, including the park’s crown jewel, Cliff Palace, where you have the option of taking a 40 minute ranger led tour (Seasonally available 2nd weel of May thru 3rd week of October). We’ll also take in some of the most spectacular views of the 4 Corners region as we travel through the park. We guarantee that you’ll leave with a new found appreciation for the cultures and landscapes of the Southwest. Included: Park fees, Cliff Palace tickets, transportation to and from Durango and within the park, and plenty of water and snacks.

Greg was knowledgeable, funny and helpful. We got to see lots of cliff dwellings from afar. I do think it would be a good idea to include walking to a cliff dwelling, like Step House. It was a lot of getting in and out with shirt distances between sites. Walking down to a dwelling would have made the tour 5 star.

Yes Katey, that is why we offer custom tours to Wetherill Mesa for those with more time for the extra hour of driving and the mile and a half of hiking to get to Step House and back since this is more than can be done on a half day tour. Thank you!

The tour guide was awesome the views were awesome great experience,my girls 13 enjoyed they are just not use to walking and hiking as much but enjoyed listening to the tour guides information of history.

The tour was fantastic. Even with some areas closed due to COVID we didn't feel like we missed out on anything. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and showed us things that other tourists missed completely. He adapted the tour to allow us to see what we were most interested in and did not rush us at all. We wound up going over time but he didn't mind at all. We got fantastic weather and the crowds weren't too bad although there were a good few visitors who didn't believe in wearing masks. Our own group kept our masks on. If you're going to visit Mesa Verde this tour is definitely the way to do it!
