Miami to Key West Day Trip with Activity Options

Overview
- Ride across 34 islands and 42 bridges known as the Florida Keys. You will travel through the 7 Mile Bridge - one of the longest in the world! The road is bordered by the emerald water of the Gulf of Mexico to the west and the Atlantic Ocean to the east. Make sure you take pictures! You will have 6 hs free in Key West to explore the island at your leisure. Key West lies at the end of the chain of islands known as the Florida Keys and is the southernmost city in the continental United States.
- Key West is known for its clear blue waters, sun-filled skies, and laid-back attitude. In addition to being a great vacation spot, the city has also served as an artistic refuge, a presidential retreat, and a military post.
- Water activities are very popular in Key West too! We offer Snorkeling, Parasailing, and Glass Bottom Boat tours.

Note: If the activities get canceled for any reason, we will refund them, however, we will NOT refund the tour to Key West ($49 value).

Seven Mile Bridge
There are two bridges in this location. The modern bridge is open to vehicular traffic; the older one only to pedestrians and cyclists. The older bridge, originally known as the Knights Key-Pigeon Key-Moser Channel-Pacet Channel Bridge, was constructed from 1909 to 1912 under the direction of Henry Flagler and Clarence S. Coe as part of the Florida East Coast Railway's Key West Extension, also known as the Overseas Railroad.
3
Southernmost Point
Key West is famous for being the southernmost city in the continental United States. When you visit, it's essential that you make it to the southernmost point on the island, found at the intersection of Whitehead Street and South Street.

US 1 Mile Marker 0
An interesting landmark for US highways. Mile marker zero notes the start of the highway for the US.1. The US.1 stretches from Key West, Florida, more than 2,000 miles to Fort Kent, Maine, not far from the United States-Canada border. The highway connects several major cities along the eastern seaboard such as Boston, Washington, D.C., and Portland, Maine. Itā€™s also commonly referred to as the Overseas Highway in Florida, as it stretches out across the Florida Keys.

Picked up early from our hotel, settled down into a comfortable seat (amazing we were the only two near us who wore the seatbelt (25% of all road deaths in England involve not wearing the seat belt)). The guide (Marleen (?) and our driver Marino - forgive me if I got this wrong) was bubbly and our driver careful. We set off and the commentary was excellent - one chap in front of us didnt like the commentarty and got a bit upset when his seat was taken after the first stop even though it was made clear there was no assigned seating - perhaps should have listened a bit better. A couple of 'old rockers' said the airconditioning was cold but as a tourist, I welcomed the coolness, they had hoodies on and were well wrapped up, goodness knows where they live normally. Our stop wasnt good, it was at Key Largo and the almost aggressive lady on the cash till had little personality, I said many pleases and thank you and didnt get a single one in reply (thats not good customer service and is not a good advert for this trip; if Orlando is 100 this shack didnt get 3 or 4. The coffee was lukewarm and tasted rancid and I am sure that my US colleagues who enjoy a good coffee would have noticed. We were offered trips at a slight discount and it made sense to take it up, it was painless to do and saved time at the kiosk - there was absolutely no pressure to buy and a bit of a discount is always appreciated. We took the trolley bus which was excellent. We stopped at the most southern point and made our way back to Mallory Square - I had spotted a fish restaurant called the Eaton Street Diner which was a nice pre-lunch walk. It was amazing and I strongly recommend them. We had a great day on a great trip - the only thing that prevents me from giving a good Five out of Five was that when we got to Downtown Miami the bus broke down and that is not good. That said, we jumped a taxi and got back to the hotel before 11 pm. In all, an excellent trip for the money, strongly recommended to take up, sit back, relax and enjoy the most fantastic scenery. This was a great trip. The bus was very comfortable and they were on time and very helpful. It is a long day but Key West is beautiful and totally worth it. Wish there was a little more information on the tour. However, the workers drive back in forth twicw in one day!! That's a lot of driving. Appreciate them and be nice they are working hard!!
