What To Expect

Key West

Pick up: Depending on your location this will range from 6 to 7:30 AM. Make sure you are OUTSIDE of your hotel/pick-up location 5-10 minutes prior to the time stated. Get comfortable while you travel to the Keys and across the Overseas Highway in our well-maintained coach bus with the tour guide speaking about Key West's rich history and culture. Arrive in Key West around 11:30 AM. Explore and experience Key West for 6 hours. See the town for yourself by walking through the streets. Everything is within walking distance! We give you a map of the city so you can handle your way around. Leave Key West around 5:30 PM and get back to Miami around 9:30 - 10:45 PM (depending on the traffic and the drop-off location).

Seven Mile Bridge

There are two bridges in this location. The modern bridge is open to vehicular traffic; the older one only to pedestrians and cyclists. The older bridge, originally known as the Knights Key-Pigeon Key-Moser Channel-Pacet Channel Bridge, was constructed from 1909 to 1912 under the direction of Henry Flagler and Clarence S. Coe as part of the Florida East Coast Railway's Key West Extension, also known as the Overseas Railroad.

Southernmost Point

Key West is famous for being the southernmost city in the continental United States. When you visit, it's essential that you make it to the southernmost point on the island, found at the intersection of Whitehead Street and South Street.

US 1 Mile Marker 0

An interesting landmark for US highways. Mile marker zero notes the start of the highway for the US.1. The US.1 stretches from Key West, Florida, more than 2,000 miles to Fort Kent, Maine, not far from the United States-Canada border. The highway connects several major cities along the eastern seaboard such as Boston, Washington, D.C., and Portland, Maine. It’s also commonly referred to as the Overseas Highway in Florida, as it stretches out across the Florida Keys.

I was a bit scared once we booked this trip because of the bad reviews, but in the end, everything went smoothly. The driver, and our guide Louis were so nice and helpfull to everyone, and answered all the questions in English and in Spanish fluently. We had no problems with the pick up from our hotel and the ride to Key West was really nice. It was a little bit cold on the bus, but that’s better than AC not working while you’re in the bus in Florida. But be sure to bring something with you, and while you’re exploring Key West you can leave it in the bus.

Oh gosh, where to begin? The trip started out ok. The guide met me at my hotel entrance and things were starting out good. Then we got off the shuttle bus and onto the bigger bus, the outlets to charge your phone didn’t work so I suggest you use your phone very strategically otherwise you’ll be without a phone for a while since this was an all day trip. Then, the guide told me that the glass bottom boat tour was cancelled due to bad weather (which I understood), then offered me an alternative to which I wouldn’t have to pay extra, the snorkeling tour. We got to the dock and that was also cancelled due to bad weather. The part that really upset me was the guide couldn’t substitute anything, so I was left wandering the streets of Key West for six hours in bad weather using my phone very strategically. He did say that part of my trip was to be refunded, but I think the entire thing should be refunded. Oh, and please have cash on you or else you’ll be shamed for not tipping the driver. As a rule I never carry cash on me, for reasons I don’t want to explain. Otherwise I would’ve gladly tipped the driver, although he kind of scowled at me when I just said thank you without tipping. On this trip I’ve been lucky some places have PayPal or venmo to which I’ve been able to tip. My advise would be to plan very well for this trip. Dot your I’s, and cross your T’s.

My son and I had a great time! The Director was wonderful and the ride was great. We really enjoyed this tour! We would recommend it to anyone wanting to go to the keys.
