Miami to Key West Day Trip with Activity Options

Overview
- Ride across 34 islands and 42 bridges known as the Florida Keys. You will travel through the 7 Mile Bridge - one of the longest in the world! The road is bordered by the emerald water of the Gulf of Mexico to the west and the Atlantic Ocean to the east. Make sure you take pictures! You will have 6 hs free in Key West to explore the island at your leisure. Key West lies at the end of the chain of islands known as the Florida Keys and is the southernmost city in the continental United States.
- Key West is known for its clear blue waters, sun-filled skies, and laid-back attitude. In addition to being a great vacation spot, the city has also served as an artistic refuge, a presidential retreat, and a military post.
- Water activities are very popular in Key West too! We offer Snorkeling, Parasailing, and Glass Bottom Boat tours.

Note: If the activities get canceled for any reason, we will refund them, however, we will NOT refund the tour to Key West ($49 value).

Seven Mile Bridge
There are two bridges in this location. The modern bridge is open to vehicular traffic; the older one only to pedestrians and cyclists. The older bridge, originally known as the Knights Key-Pigeon Key-Moser Channel-Pacet Channel Bridge, was constructed from 1909 to 1912 under the direction of Henry Flagler and Clarence S. Coe as part of the Florida East Coast Railway's Key West Extension, also known as the Overseas Railroad.
3
Southernmost Point
Key West is famous for being the southernmost city in the continental United States. When you visit, it's essential that you make it to the southernmost point on the island, found at the intersection of Whitehead Street and South Street.

US 1 Mile Marker 0
An interesting landmark for US highways. Mile marker zero notes the start of the highway for the US.1. The US.1 stretches from Key West, Florida, more than 2,000 miles to Fort Kent, Maine, not far from the United States-Canada border. The highway connects several major cities along the eastern seaboard such as Boston, Washington, D.C., and Portland, Maine. Itā€™s also commonly referred to as the Overseas Highway in Florida, as it stretches out across the Florida Keys.

They were always on time. They called us before they picked us up to let us know that they were on their way. Very knowledgeable in explaining to us the history of the places we went by. Also let us know of the many places we could eat. Gave us enough time to be able to go and take other activities

The information given about this trip was accurate and we got exactly what we expected. We got picked up a few minutes early at our rented apartment which was very appreciated, even though the information only says hotel pick up. Furthermore, the extra tours provided by the company (snorkeling, glass boat etc) can also be booked on the bus and the driver set you up with the guides on site. The trip to key west was about 4 hours including all the pick-ups from various hotels. We stopped one time on our way down at a McDonaldā€™s, but there were also convenience stores nearby if one prefer other breakfasts at approximately 10am. The driver of the bus was good and provided basic information about the islands and cities we passed during our tour. Expect some funny jokes from this bloke! The bus stopped at a good site on key west, close to the two main streets and main tourist attractions. If I need to put something bad about this trip, there was no WiFi on the bus as promised! Moreover, it is not about the tour but rather key west. It is very touristy and itā€™s all about souvenirs. Almost all houses on the main streets consist of souvenir shops with the same products. However, the town is a nice place to walk around in (if you like walking) with many old typical southern buildings. There are also hop on/off shuttles all around the island (for purchase). Also some form of free shuttle bus that we didnā€™t try. The trip back home did not make a stop on the way, you need to eat before leaving or buy something to bring on the bus. The 6 hours provided at key west are well sufficient to both be a tourist and find places to eat! Since the bus does not stop on the way home, and only makes drop off at the bigger hotels and the main streets of Miami Beach, it is faster to get home. We got dropped off near our apartment as well so we were very happy about that. All and all a pleasant day trip that we recommend.

We found this to be a great tour. On the plus side, this is one of the few trips that gives you about 6.5 hours of free time at Key West. We did the glass bottom boat and then walked around town and visited the beach. We had plenty of time for this. The driver was friendly and explained things quite well beforehand. On the downside, there were no toilet stops on the way back - a good 3.5 hours from Key West to Miami. This became quite difficult with the kids. On the way out, there is a stop at a Macdonalds. Other notes - You can choose to buy the optional activities on the bus. There is time for only 1 optional activity, so you need to choose. The glass bottom boat is ok - coral is not great. It was quite hot on the boat. However, on the way back, we saw dolphins. If we had our time over, we'd choose parasailing instead.
