John's tour is one of the best I have experienced. He is personable, informative, and obviously in love with his subject. An eclectic variety of stops, and we are glad we took the tour early in our stay in Atlanta. It gave us ideas for dining for the rest of our trip. Well worth the price.

Dean, I laughed out loud when I read your email telling me that you had written a review....to be on the lookout for it....and that you had given me 1 star rating! Yikes! Even after your wife and I pulled off a big birthday surprise AND sang to you! Too funny! Dean, you're the best! Thanks for the great review as I had hoped that you and A. were having a blast. Lots of food! Lots of birthday wishes! Lots of grins all around! It's not often that my out-of-town guests give me other Atlanta dining suggestions but you were spot on with your advice. For that, certainly another "Thank You!" My best to you both! Let's do another Peachtree Food Tour together. The "Awesome Outdoor Dining" Tour is coming soon!

My husband and I (native Atlantans) had a wonderful time on John's food tour as part of our 12th wedding anniversary. We thoroughly enjoyed the food, the history, and the company. I'd highly recommend this tour to visitors and locals alike!

Keisa, What started out with my craziness during our first phone chat (Linda this and Linda that!) sure turned out to be great way to celebrate your anniversary! You two were a lot of fun and my sparring with P. was perfect! If you had warned me I would have worn a GT sweatshirt just to be a devil. Lots of food! Lots of fun! Thanks for sending the great review! Now the challenge is....what to do to top a Peachtree Food Tour for your next anniversary adventure?! Oh! By the way! That sweet photo I took of you two....with the big grins! Check out the photos on my TripAdvisor page! My best to you both! Here's hoping I run into you in my 'hood soon!

John is a semi-retired executive and veteran tour guide of Atlanta's historic Oakland cemetery and the Georgia State Capital. John makes the most of that experience with a food tour of mid-town Atlanta. John has lived in mid-town for several years and it shows. The tour is a great combination of a historical and a foody tour. If you looked at all the tour stops on a printed list, you might think "How is this going to work?' But he does a masterful job of weaving it all together. Our tour combined traditional mid-town favorties (with full history lesson), authentic southern cooking, and a few stops combining traditional fare with a modern twists. My wife and I have lived in Atlanta for several years are we thought we knew mid-town Atlanta pretty well. But John showed us several new things, both historical and food-related, that we had no clue about. He a delightful guy with whom to spend an afternoon.

Tom, The only part which is not so true is the "semi-retired" comment! Yikes! I started Peachtree Food Tours thinking that a couple of Tours a month would be great fun, never dreaming that my average is now 4 Tours a week! I have found my niche and am loving every minute of my Midtown adventures! Thanks for taking a few moments to write such a wonderful review. It's nice to know that you appreciated that this not just a food tour. Lots of restaurant background, lots of humorous stories, all wrapped around an historical perspective of Atlanta and Midtown. Be sure to include some of my neighborhood favorites on your list the next time you and D. head out for a bite!
