Moab Rafting Afternoon Half-Day Trip

Overview
Castle Valley is the poster child for western landscapes, and you’ve probably already seen it somewhere in a movie, TV show, or commercial. And if somehow you have, in fact, never laid eyes on Castle Valley before, you’re not going forget it once you do!

This serene section of the Colorado River moseys through a big beautiful red-rock canyon. As for the waters here along the Colorado River, it stays pretty warm from late spring to early fall.

You’ll spend most of your time floating, with a few Class II rapids to cool you off along the way. Expect plenty of fascinating interpretations and fun stories from your river guide on this mild trip!

It was a great trip. The guides were Shawn and Dean. Shawn is very knowledgeable, has great people skills and has a superb sense of humor. In addition to a lot of information about the river, wildlife, ecosystems, and anecdotes, he is an all-around fantastic guide. Very highly recommended. With the water levels being relatively low, the rapids were mild, a few guests were swimming, rather floated down the river for a short distance. The trip was in mid-September 2024. We would do it again any time, perhaps in the spring when the water flows faster and the rafting is more exhilarating.

Thank you so much! We are so glad to hear that you had a great time with Shawn & Dean and learned so much along the way as well :) We hope to share another river adventure in the future- we recommend June for high water flows!

Ashley and Dean were great guides - loved their corny jokes! They were safety conscious in an easy going manner and pointed out wildlife and other points of interest. It was great to jump into the river to cool off.

Scenic drive and chill experience. Water was quite mellow so not really something I looked for, but that was out of our control.

Thank you so much for the review! I am sorry you wished for bigger rapids! This trip is definitely a mild float along the river, so we understand it's not everyones cup of tea. We'd love to have you on more wild trips in the future! We have many more single day river options closer to Durango that go up to class IV and V!!
