Moab Rafting Morning Half-Day Trip

Overview
Castle Valley is the poster child for Western landscapes, and you’ve probably already seen it somewhere in a John Wayne movie, TV show, or a commercial or two. And if somehow you have, in fact, never laid eyes on Castle Valley before, you’re not going forget it once you do!

This serene section of the Colorado River moseys through a big beautiful valley lined with monuments. Along the way are some of Utah’s most impressive geologic features like Fisher Towers, Castleton Tower, the Priest and Nuns, and more.

As for the waters here along the Colorado River, it stays pretty warm from late spring to early fall. You’ll spend most of your time floating, with a few Class II rapids to cool you off along the way. Expect plenty of fascinating interpretations and fun stories from your river guide on this mild trip!

The Mild to Wild rafting trip is a must if you are in or near Moab. We had a fantastic time and our guide, Shawn, helped make the trip even better. I highly recommend this trip.

Our family of 4 had an absolutely wonderful time on the river with Chase, Dean, and Brendan. All the guides were super friendly, funny, and knowledgable about the area and made the slower parts of the river very entertaining. Just as a heads up to future travelers, the water levels were high when we went (making the larger rapids around a level 3, they're normally around 1-2) but it wasn't very scary at all! This probably isnt the trip for the super adrenaline junkie but it was great for our first-timer family and was enjoyed by both 50 year olds and both 20 year olds. There were 5 rapids (3 small, 2 big) on the morning tour and the two big ones were definitely the highlight--we all got splashed a decent amount (but not fully soaked). They do require strapped sandals or shoes, but if you forgot to pack any, they do offer booties for rental for $5 which our family very much appreciated. We wished we had booked the full day, it was so fun!!!
