Overview

Castle Valley is the poster child for Western landscapes, and you’ve probably already seen it somewhere in a John Wayne movie, TV show, or a commercial or two. And if somehow you have, in fact, never laid eyes on Castle Valley before, you’re not going forget it once you do!

This serene section of the Colorado River moseys through a big beautiful valley lined with monuments. Along the way are some of Utah’s most impressive geologic features like Fisher Towers, Castleton Tower, the Priest and Nuns, and more.

As for the waters here along the Colorado River, it stays pretty warm from late spring to early fall. You’ll spend most of your time floating, with a few Class II rapids to cool you off along the way. Expect plenty of fascinating interpretations and fun stories from your river guide on this mild trip!

We did this trip with our 8 and 6 year old boys and it was great. Our guide, Levi, was great!! He was enthusiastic about being on the water and his love of rafting was very evident. He shared his knowledge of the river, told us about features of the river and was simply a personable guy who was willing to answer our questions and share his knowledge with us. Our trip was probably much shorter than the average, but that was simply because the river is running really, really high and fast. Nothing these guys can do about it! If you need ideas of things to do during your stay, it might be worth it to book a trip with a local guide like these guys first! This was a great adventure!

Fun time was had by all. Luis was our guide. We felt safe as inexperienced rafters and at the same time it was a fun and challenging time!

This was such a fun morning!!! We chose a Mild tour, as we aren't as young as we used to be. I initially thought all the rowing would be done by the guide in the back of the boat, but was incorrect. However, as soon as I said that I was recovering from shoulder surgery, they told me that I would NOT be expected to row. The job that the guides did was awesome. We had a young lady who didn't look very strong, but she handled steering us through the rapids as though it were no big deal for her. Impressive!!! We also had a gentleman guide who took snapshots of our group of four, and promptly sent them to us electronically. That's service!!!! There were a couple of moments of adrenalin, and we all got wet, but it was a great experience, and we highly recommend it to others who (like us) are not into multi-day rafting and camping trips.
