Modern & More Bike Tours Palm Springs

Overview

This is a small group 2.5 hour bike tour of three architecturally & historically significant residential neighborhoods in South Palm Springs. Quiet streets, no hills, constant sunshine, & very little traffic make for a great ride for novices or expert cyclists alike. (This is not an athletic tour, fear not!)

We'll explore the neighborhoods of Deepwell Estates, Twin Palms, & Indian Canyons, making frequent stops for photos & to learn details about specific homes and architects.

NOTE: Bikes are not included. I work with a rental agency where our journey begins and ends. They do offer my guests a discount, and they have colorful cruiser bikes as well as electric pedal-assist bikes.

[ I've designed this tour for serious architecture & history fans, with academic-level information & detail. So, it may not be the most enjoyable tour for some children. ]

Our tour was two couples and we rented e-bikes at Big Wheel Tours which partners with our tour guide, Brennan. It was the most fabulous tour. It was easy to rent bikes, tour left from rental shop, and tour was flat (we did e-bikes but certainly would not need the assist for this tour). We stopped at many homes and took many great pics. Four was a perfect size to listen and enjoy the wonderful history and haunts of local Palm Springs architecture. Brennan was extremely knowledgeable, excited to educate and side-achingly funny the entire time. His passion for architecture and culture made the four of us yearn to learn more. We walked away with an understanding of the various eras, appreciation of home styles and felt so grateful to receive special insights that we weren’t expecting. We highly recommend this tour and booking with Brennan. You won’t regret it!

Brennan is a great tour guide- entertaining, knowledgable, intellectually curious ("I asked at the historical society about this..."). I already had biked around Deepwell Estates a fair amount but this tour filled in a lot of gaps for me. So fun to learn about the key architects, builders, and building designs. I also saw new areas I didn't even know existed. It's nicer to be on a bike than in a van/car when you do an architectural tour, because you can slow down and really take a look at houses and landscaping. I hesitated because there weren't as many reviews of this tour as of others, but I was absolutely thrilled--that's why I'm writing a review. And it was so fun that the tour flew by! 10/10 recommend.
