Monument Valley Navajo Tribal Park
Your guide would take you to see the beautiful iconic buttes, spires and mesas that have made Monument Valley famous on part of the 17 mile loop drive. We would then go to the back country restricted areas of the Tribal Park to stand beneath the natural arches, amp theaters and get right up close to the Anasazi petroglyphs. Our guides are so kind and would explain the traditional meanings of each location, history, and culture while answering any question that you might think of. Navajo Spirit Tours does not shy away from some of the spiritual topics that you might not hear about on a regular day. We do try our best in the short amount of time that we have with each of our guests to teach as much as we can while you are here. We do look forward to meeting you!

Wil was amazing. We did the Mystery Valley tour. Awesome sights. Wil provided an enormous amount of Navajo stories and traditions. Gave us a perspective that I never heard in school. We can learn a lot from native cultures. Highly recommend this tour.

We did the sunrise tour with Larry as our guide. The ride was bumpy and slippery at times in the backcountry. The backcountry, not the usual monument valley areas we see such as the mitten, is the emphasis of this tour which is fine with me. You can always take the usual pictures by the parking lot of the hotel (we didn’t go to the hotel) or ride down again to the designated areas on your own. I’m glad though that we didn’t drive on our own as the roads are unpaved. Larry told us some stories about Navajo culture as well as singing some songs for us when we were at the Big Hogan with an oculus that they call Eagle’s eye. We were also able to see some petroglyphs which are really cool!

During our recent visit to Monument Valley we were fortunate to have Larson as our tour guide. Larson was very engaging and personable right from the start and very knowledgeable, answering all our questions throughout the tour. We enjoyed learning about the Navajo beliefs, culture and traditions through his very personal stories. It was an honor to have such intimate access to this beautiful, sacred land. Larson is also a photographer and pointed out spots for the perfect picture. Our time with Larson definitely was the highlight of our trip out west, one which we will always remember. Don’t leave Monument Valley without taking a tour with Spirit Tours, requesting Larson. You would be missing an unforgettable experience.
