We took the Extended Back Country Jeep Tour. It was a wonderful experience! Our guide, Ross, was super knowledgeable and cared we had a great tour. I would highly recommend this tour to anyone of all ages.

We took this tour a couple of weeks ago with Roz as our guide. I booked this tour the day before solely on the basis of their website (which was informative, attractive and "professional"-looking). As we were travelling in an RV that could not be taken on the rugged unpaved loop road, we had no choice but to book a tour. I booked by phone with an operator that was courteous and helpful with my overseas card. The tour experience was fantastic. We were met in the lobby of the View Hotel and introduced to Roz. Our party of four was joined by another small family (so our touring group was relatively small compared to other tours operated by Gouldings and others). The vehicle was a suitably rugged, spacious, open-air Landcruiser that afforded fantastic viewing and photography. Our guide Roz was very personable, enthusiastic and knowledgeable. She patiently answered all of our questions about the landscape, the people, and the reservation in a rich and informative way. Not the more typical disengaged and heavily scripted tourist guide on autopilot! Aside from the spectatcular landscape, the highlights were definitely Roz's flute-playing at the Big Hogan and the weaving demonstration and cultural talk with a local resident. The three and a half hours just "flew by." We all walked away from the tour with a better appreciation of the richness of Navajo culture and the skill of the people to thrive in this tough environment over the many centuries. I highly recommend this tour.

Highly recommend this tour. Our guide, Ross was excellent. Information provided on the tour and the stops planned were everything and more than expected.
