The Extended backcountry tour offers all Highlight stops and additional stops that are not covered in the regular backcountry tour. Spend more time with your Navajo guide and indulge in an experience that uncovers the secrets, myths, and legends of the Navajo Culture. Navigate through 28 miles of Monument Valley's Finest spectacles where movies, commercials, and performances were made. Enjoy the luxury of exploring areas that are off-limits to normal travelers; and listen and watch your guide bring the monuments to life through its history, story telling, and live performances. Enjoy a visit to a local Navajo Hogan and watch a demonstration of the art of Navajo Rug Weaving. Behind the breathtaking Mesas, Buttes, Spires, and Arches there are hidden stories waiting to be told.

Lilian, the tour arranger was charming, kind and flexible. The guide was a kind and flexible full blood Navajo with perfect English, who told great stories of the place, the culture and the stories of the present day and of old, especially the ones he learned from his great great grandmother, who was a very talented medicine woman, and handed down many stories, spiritual tales and the basis of healing to this wonderful guide. I did not dig too far, as I understand that some of his knowledge is regarded by navajos as secret and sacred, and tried not to push the boundaries too much, but all that he said was fascinating, respectful and zen like. He even demonstrated how the rock formations were created, and the spiritual basis of the Navajo life. Many thanks.

Was betrothed the honor of my wife's time for an outstanding weekend. Beautiful scenery, outstanding information absorbed that was given by our fantastic guide. Once finances are stable, a family excursion is called for

I went with my other half. It was an amazing expirence that we had. The tour was great as was it very knowledgeable. I plan on coming back next month with thought of taking our kids!!!!
