What To Expect

Phoenix Sonoran Desert Preserve

All hot air balloon tours check in at the Deer Valley Airport Balloon Ride Parking Area, unless the roundtrip hotel transfers option is selected. Guests will float above the awe-inspiring Sonoran Desert viewing local landmarks, wildlife and plant life from above.

Camelback Mountain

Enjoy stunning views of iconic Camelback Mountain in the heart of the Phoenix Valley. You pilot will share the history of this fascinating city and will point out local wildlife and plant life.

Downtown Phoenix

You will be able to see Downtown Phoenix in the distance as you soar over the valley. As you begin to land, you'll see a table complete with linens and china in the heart of the desert, a clue to what you are about to enjoy! You are greeted with a traditional celebration that includes scrumptiously prepared gourmet cuisine from the award-winning Vincent’s on Camelback restaurant. First-time flyers will be treated to the legendary Balloonists Ceremony that balloonists all over the world have been sharing for more than a century.

Enjoyed an early morning hot air balloon experience just outside of Phoenix taking in the desert and the mountains in the distance. Was up in the air for about 60 to 70 minutes and went upto about 2,500 feet. The captain was knowledgeable and shared some amusing anecdotes. Once landed the captain and his ground support then laid on a mimosa breakfast. We were then dropped back to our hotel. Overall a great experience and would very much recommend .

Was super excited to do this excursion. Everything was organized and well put together. We met and started promptly. Our van driver was awesome. He stopped to allow a bathroom break. Which was much appreciated since it was 5am and the ride experience wasn't over until almost 9am. I hope they make bathroom stops for everyone a normalcy. Watching the balloons get up and going was awesome. Literally see them inflate before your eyes! Great photo ops with those and with the sun rising over the mountains as a backdrop in the Sonoran desert. Now the ride itself was a bit lackluster. I expected to be able to go high. We spent alot of time near the ground almost hitting bushes. Other balloons were high enough to go over mountains. I've been higher on a ride at an amusement park. Our pilot (i think his name was Grant) was nice, but he TALKED THE ENTIRE TIME!!!! He talked mainly about himself but he talked too much overall. There were no quiet moments at all to take in the scenery. He also asked everyone about themselves except for me. I wasn't hard to miss as I was the only black person in my basket. *shrugs*. We landed and had a bit of lite bites. Our pilot was great in this aspect. He laid everything out that we needed as well as clean up. I had prepaid while others hadn't. I didn't know that payments were being taken post ride until the pilot said something. So maybe they should be more clear on who is suppose to pay so people aren't getting called out for not paying. Overall, I don't think this excursion is worth the price. I do understand cost associated with the business but it seems to be overpriced for a lack luster experience.

Omg the experience will not disappoint you. I am scared of heights but I quickly overcame my fear. The team was awesome they cared about your safety. The Captain had a great personality and was very knowledgeable. The view is amazing- my friends watched my Instagram and had so many questions. LIKE NIKE - SAID JUST DO IT
