What To Expect

Phoenix Sonoran Desert Preserve

All hot air balloon tours check in at the Deer Valley Airport Balloon Ride Parking Area, unless the roundtrip hotel transfers option is selected. Guests will float above the awe-inspiring Sonoran Desert viewing local landmarks, wildlife and plant life from above.

Camelback Mountain

Enjoy stunning views of iconic Camelback Mountain in the heart of the Phoenix Valley. You pilot will share the history of this fascinating city and will point out local wildlife and plant life.

Downtown Phoenix

You will be able to see Downtown Phoenix in the distance as you soar over the valley. As you begin to land, you'll see a table complete with linens and china in the heart of the desert, a clue to what you are about to enjoy! You are greeted with a traditional celebration that includes scrumptiously prepared gourmet cuisine from the award-winning Vincent’s on Camelback restaurant. First-time flyers will be treated to the legendary Balloonists Ceremony that balloonists all over the world have been sharing for more than a century.

I absolutely loved traveling in a basket as it has been on my bucket list for a long time. To watch the hot air balloon fill up was part of the experience. To take pictures of other balloons, the mountains and the cloud formations added to the fun. The landing was a little rougher than expected but we were told to lean and brace long before the impact. I do not think I would have been brave enough to fly closer to the canyon. The price was right. The guide gave us the history of hot air balloon flying. It was worth it!! P.S. Never got to see the wizard or Oz but that may have to be saved for another time. 😉

The entire experience was great - from the trip to the site, driven by Jim the Crew Chief, throughout the balloon inflation, flight, and landing, directed by Bill the Captain. An experience to remember!

We had an AWESOME experience! Captain Mike E and Crew Chief Mike P were professional and very knowledgeable. We got to fly over the lock and dam, which was a rare route due to the wind patterns. It was absolutely beautiful! The breakfast was just as advertised, delicious and posh with real linens. The champagne flowed freely and Captain Mike’s recitation of the “Balloonist Prayer” was a special touch! We felt very safe and attended to during the ride. We took tons of pictures and it was an experience we never will forget. Don’t hesitate!
