I decided to surprise my daughter with a hot air balloon ride before attending an Law Enforcement Torch Run conference in Phoenix. We had an absolutely awesome time. Captain Tommy and Crew Chief Nick were wonderful, informative and funny! The ride was phenomenal. Breakfast al fresco after the ride was a delight and scrumptious as well. Crossing this item off our bucket lists is truly a lifetime memory. Thank you, Tommy, Nick and the entire crew of Hot Air Expeditions.

We booked this hot air balloon ride by a recommendation from another balloon company. We should of asked questions concerning the area in which the ride would take place. We launched from a site that was just a few blocks over from Deer Valley Airport, literally in a open lot which appeared to be still within the city limits. From there we ballooned over a small portion of open fields, not once hovering lower in order to get a glimpse of wildlife, cactus etc. While the other two balloons from other companies did. The only place our pilot took us lower was over a residential area. I can not imagine anyone in our party was thrilled to see up close everyone's backyards from above. Had I asked better questions concerning where we would launch from I would not of booked here. Also, it throws a red flag up when the pilot continually tells all the passengers to "be sure to go on trip advisor and rate us a 5 because we have a contest going on right now to see who gets the most higher ratings, my name is Tommy Brown, be sure to put that." Well, OK Tommy Brown, here's your rating....2 and that's generous. This is not our first time in a hot air balloon so I do have something to compare to. Now for the positive. The ground crew was great! And the champagne breakfast was your typical easily served food.

Yes, you have to wake up early. Yes, it's worth it. We took an amazing balloon ride with Captain John up and into the clouds for a breathtaking experience. There were clouds on the morning we went. Clouds or not, it's something not to be missed. I loved every second. When you land you are treated to champagne, juice and a yummy breakfast right in the desert. So glad we decided to wake up early and go!
