The bus departs at 9am and heads for Mount Rushmore! You will have a little over an hour to look around at your own convenience and enjoy the sites and beauty that you came to South Dakota for. We stop here first because Mount Rushmore is at it's best in the morning sun. Gutzon Borglum carved this mountain facing east towards the morning sun and intended it to be viewed this way.

After lunch we depart for the Needles Hwy. This 14 mile scenic drive is sure to leave you breathless and awe struck at amazing beauty of the Black Hills. Sit back and enjoy the ride and watch the crowd gather around when we drive the bus through the Needles Eye Tunnel. With only inches to spare on each side of the bus you can relish in the fact that you are not the one driving.

Take a rest stop and coffee break at the beautiful Sylvan Lake. This is among the crown jewels of Custer State Park and the beauty within it.

We almost didn't take the tour because we usually like to decide where and how long we will visit sites. Thankfully we decided to take the 9 hour Mount Rushmore Tour which included the Black Hills, Custer State Park, Crazy Horse, Mount Rushmore and Sylvan Lake (for lunch). Our tour guide/driver, Dan, was awesome! We drove thru tunnels, hair pin curves, over pig tail bridges and some real white knuckle roads. There is no way I could have enjoyed this doing the driving myself. In addition, the tour knows the best routes and the information Dan gave us during the drive was really great. The lunch stop was at a restaurant with really good food. We had plenty of time to explore each site and did not feel rushed at all. This is the way to go if you are a first time visiter in the Black Hills area. Very well done!

This trip has been on my "bucket list" for years. My husband & I had so much fun. We not only saw Mt Rushmore, the beauty of the Black Hills, Custer's NationL Park, & Crazy Horse Memorial, but we had an excellent driver. Dan was courteous, knowledgeable, & very entertaining. The passengers on the full bus were also fun to be with. We had a great time at Hill City & the Chuck wagon Dinner Theatre. The breakfast & dinner were good & the band kept us clapping our hands & stomping our feet. I highly recommend this tour.

My daughter and I were in our 36ft motor home and didn't want to drive the Black Hills.. Our camp sight host recommended the Mount Rushmore Tours and even booked it for us and arranged for them to pick us up at the camp office. This trip was awesome we saw things we didn't even know about, like the Needles area!! Our bus driver/guide was so great, Pastor Bill was so informative and funny. He stopped so we could see extra things and take pictures. The all day trip went by so fast and the food was great. Breakfast before was .99 pancakes so good. We got the tour without the meals and show, it was a very good deal and I enjoyed not having to drive so could take in all the sites. Trip included Rushmore, Crazy Horse and SO very much more. Don't miss this tour.
