If you want a perfect little day at Mt. Rainier, look no further. Lucas is an excellent guide who makes the group of strangers feel at ease around each other. We were laughing together the entire time. He made sure everyone was accommodated. If you want to snowshoe, sled, hike (short or long), shop for gifts, eat/drink - as long as it’s legal, Lucas has you covered. This trip was just what I was looking for. What to expect: it’s ideal if you’re wearing layers and comfortable shoes, but you’ll make a stop at Fred Meyer in case you’re missing anything. Bring some snacks (I had some Kind/Clif bars) to eat every few hours if you want to keep your energy up. Bottled water is provided. My hotel wasn’t listed as a pickup spot, but they came to get me (on time!) anyway. Suggestions for company: it would “up your game” to hire a driver who is separate from the actual tour guide. Our group of experienced travelers agreed that the most elite/memorable tours we’ve taken have separated the experience from the drive. This company is fortunate to have someone (Lucas) who can perform, but we also understand that high-quality guides are professionals who should be able to sustain reasonable hours.

Lucas was our tour guide, we only had a small group of 5 but I think that made it so much better, rather than a large group. He was super friendly and funny and gave a lot of good tips and suggestions. The weather was not great, it was pretty snowy and it even started to become a blizzard towards the end but that didn’t ruin our experience at all. He took us snowshoeing down to Narada Falls and we went sledding in Paradise. Overall amazing experience and I would love to come back during the warmer months and do this trip again

Seattle covered in snow is apparently rare, however, it was under a foot when we visited for a long weekend. Thanks to Kevin’s expertise, we were still able to get out into nature on a safe and beautiful hike. His knowledge and worldly experience added so much to the experience itself, and we definitely hope to hike with Kevin as our guide again.
