Hello, My wife and I took the Mt. Rainer Seattle Tour on Saturday, October 3rd. While the scenery and weather were beautiful, we were deeply concerned by our tour guides' lack of care for precautions in regards to the Covid-19 pandemic. We were the first of 8 people to be picked up that day and we noticed that our tour guide was not wearing a face covering while driving in the bus in addition to the windows not being open until after several other couples had entered the bus. When I asked the tour guide to wear a mask, he replied that he wouldn’t wear one because he couldn’t talk into the microphone effectively with a face covering on. In addition to not wearing a mask while on the bus the tour guide did not properly enforce mask wearing for other tour guests. There was one couple that would frequently take off their masks or not wear their masks while on the bus and the guide made no effort to enforce mask wearing. The bus is an enclosed confined space, it should be where the most precautions are taken as it was the space on the tour where everyone is the most vulnerable. Please encourage all tour guides to enforce these basic precautions. Taking these precautions will help limit people's exposure to the Covid-19 virus and possibly save lives. Thank You

The driver was correct that while driving and giving narration they are not required to wear masks. Guests are required to wear masks. We have severely limited the amount of passengers allowed on board so they can social distance, similar to restaurant rules. I’m looking into the matter with the guide enforcing the state safety guidelines. The driver/guides first priority is paying attention to driving- So looking back to enforce Covid restrictions can be spotty at best. If a guest improperly takes off a mask off during the tour - guests should discreetly mention it to the guide at the next stop to remind the offending party of the rules -as we are all going through this together. Customers often snack and eat meals on board during drive time, as in a restaurant, masks have come off to eat.

I wish I could find a single word to describe this experience but I cannot. This was beyond what I prayed for with my husband! We traveled from Texas in hopes of having a day filled with beautiful scenery and great surprises and we were blessed with that and more! Not only was our trip not cancelled, it was very intimate! Lucas was the best tour guide ever! He was personable, welcoming, interactive, funny and professional! My husband turned 40 and Lucas and Annie (other tourist) made this day happen for him! Although the rain was persistent, Lucas was determined to show us beautiful places and moments! From waterfalls to aged trees, to the best blackberry pie ever! Thank you for such an awesome experience! We will definitely be back when the weather is better to take the hike to the top!

What a fun way to spend a birthday celebration! I am so happy to hear Lucas and the other customers on board were able to make this day so special for your husband. Weather in the PNW is definitely unpredictable. We look forward to you visiting us again. Thank you for the great review!

My friend and I decided to take this tour last minute and we are so glad that we did! Our tour guide, John, is so knowledgeable about the mountain, trails, etc. He is very friendly and welcomes any questions that guests may have. We were lucky enough to visit on a clear day with little to no wind so that made for awesome pictures! Pro tip: you may have the option to eat your lunch in the van or wait until later in the tour to sit down and eat somewhere. If you want to make the most out of your time during the tour, definitely eat in the van and use your free time to hike around.

Thank you so much for deciding to take a last minute adventure with John to Mt. Rainier. What a great tip to others about how to use their time if they are interested in taking a hike. We appreciate your feedback and review!
