I took the bus trip to Muir Woods and the ferry back from Sausalito. Booking was painless and easy, especially because they provide you all the tickets / ferry tickets ahead of time. Driver/tour guide was great. I felt safe and he provided so much information along the tour. I recommend going at the 8am tour only because we beat a lot of the crowds getting to Muir woods early on, and it was a much more enjoyable experience without so much noise (and kids!). An hour was more than enough time to enjoy the area on a very easy elevated walking trail. We left on time, and everyone was great about sticking to the bus schedule so that we had time to stop off for picture at the Golden Gate. I didn't really enjoy Sausalito as much only because I had been there before, and although it's cute, quaint and picturesque, there's nothing really worth sticking around for me. I went in February and it was actually the perfect time to go on account of there being little fog, and offering clear views throughout. Dress warm though for the woods!

It was wonderful seeing Muir Woods but the tour was definitely too short! There is just enough time to walk the trails but you have to walk so fast to make it through that you really miss the beauty of the place. We were given 1 hr and a half to walk the trails and check out the gift shop and had to be back in time otherwise the bus driver said he would leave without us. It was great cause we got to see the red woods but it was sad that we had to basically speed walk the whole thing. Disappointing because you miss the contemplative beauty of nature when you have to speed through and especially for how much money you have to pay for the tour.

Dear fmdp2020, Thank you for sharing your experience on our Muir Woods and Sausalito tour. I regret to learn you felt there was not enough time to fully enjoy the experience of being in this beautiful place. I will transfer your constructive feedback with both our operations and reservations team in order to see whether there is room for improvement. Sincerely, Manager at Gray Line of San Francisco

The bus ride up was very relaxing and enjoyable. It was wonderful not to have to drive myself up there and struggle to find parking. The Woods were amazing. Very majestic. Well worth the time. We enjoyed walking around Sausalito afterwards. The ferry ride back to San Francisco gave us a chance to get pictures of the Golden Gate Bridge at sunset!
