Muscle Shoals Sound Studio Tour in Sheffield Alabama

Overview
In 1969 the Swampers founded Muscle Shoals Sound Studio and within months they were attracting hit recording artists from around the world who came to them in search of the signature sound that forever changed American music. Through the generosity of Beats Electronics the legendary studio has been authentically restored. From the vintage equipment in the control room upstairs to the orange carpet in the Swampers' party room downstairs, the building looks exactly as it did during those magical years between 1969 and 1978. Peek into the bathroom where Keith Richards put the finishing touches on Wild Horses or sit at the piano that Paul Simon played on Kodachrome.

A most unprepossessing exterior. We were underwhelmed and went in to book our tour out of a senses of duty and with low expectations…. GORDON BENNETT!! Terrell was absolutely amazing and brought the whole place to life with his insights and anecdotes about the people, music and events that took place. A great tour which changed my view of music and the impact this place had our our fantastic musical heritage.

My Mom and I drove up from Birmingham to tour the studios. MSS was our first stop and luckily we had our own private tour with Chase. He was awesome, sharing stories of what happened where in the studio, what some of the interactions were like between the artists and the session players. He was very knowledgeable about the place, its history and the artists who recorded there. Was a fantastic and informative tour. Best of luck to Chase in his engineering and producing career at an iconic studio! Review requires family with children or teens, it was just my Mom and I and I'm in my 50's.
