Mush Your Own Sled Dog Team (Summer/Fall Tour)

Overview
This is the only place in Alaska where you can mush your own team of dogs in the summer!

This is not a just a tour kennel; it is the training grounds and homestead of 4-time Iditarod champion, Dallas Seavey. All the dogs are either retired racing dogs (many have won the Iditarod), are currently on the race team, or are the next generation in training to become the next great champions! Our dogs are active and training year-round. As a guest musher here, you become part of Dallas Seavey Racing's year-round training program.

The group size for this experience is usually 6 or less people, with a guide assigned to each group, creating a very personal experience.

All of our dogs are extremely friendly, and love attention. Cuddle puppies, romp with young dogs, or walk with champions.

Such a fun and educational experience! Well worth the priceā€¦which helps this outfit operate and care for their 130 sled dogs. Everyone we dealt with was very professional and kind. Chad who has competed in the Iditarod is such a knowledgeable and talented young man. He will win this race someday. Make sure to wear rain gear and the boots they have availableā€¦ the ā€œpuddlesā€ are super deep!

Puddles this August have been more like ponds, ha-ha!! August has been rainy. We have recently pumped the trails of water which has helped with the puddles. Thanks for joining us.

My wife and I are both teachers and every summer we travel with our two boys in an attempt to visit all 50 states. Alaska was the 49th state that we've visited as a family of 4 and mushing our own dog sleds was one of our top "Alaska Bucket List" items. This place was fantastic and one of the most memorable experiences in all of our travels together. We got the chance to meet their newborn puppies, and we also learned so much about their training, racing, and the Iditarod itself! Definitely worth every penny! We can't wait to follow the Dallas Seavey Team and cheer them on from our home state of New York when the Iditarod comes around next March! We'll definitely recommend this for anyone looking to visit Alaska! Follow our travels on IG @questfor50states

Thank you for supporting the kennel! Glad we were part of the Alaska Bucket List, add winter dog mushing to it and come back and see us!

We recently had a trip to Alaska, and the dog mushing was the highlight of the trip. A van picked us up in Talkeetna and brought us to the site. We had a mini lesson on how to drive the cart. Quickly we were in the woods being driven by our sled dogs. Going through the forest was magical and muddy, but so much fun. After everyone had a turn mushing we got to visit the puppies, newborns, and the iditarod info tent. How many people can say they have mushed a dog sled team? Totally worth it!
