Mush Your Own Sled Dog Team (Summer/Fall Tour)

Overview

This is the only place in Alaska where you can mush your own team of dogs in the summer!

This is not a just a tour kennel; it is the training grounds and homestead of 4-time Iditarod champion, Dallas Seavey. All the dogs are either retired racing dogs (many have won the Iditarod), are currently on the race team, or are the next generation in training to become the next great champions! Our dogs are active and training year-round. As a guest musher here, you become part of Dallas Seavey Racing's year-round training program.

The group size for this experience is usually 6 or less people, with a guide assigned to each group, creating a very personal experience.

All of our dogs are extremely friendly, and love attention. Cuddle puppies, romp with young dogs, or walk with champions.

What a great, unique experience. The staff was so nice and mushing the dogs was a blast. The dogs were so excited to go out. It’s clear that they love what they do. This kennel is owned by a five-time Iditarod champion. We got to see a litter of four week old puppies with their mother. We got to hold the puppies. As much fun as the mushing was, holding those cute puppies was just as much fun. Learning about the Iditarod was the cherry on top.

I added this activity to our vacation at teen daughter's request to drive a sled dog team but the whole family raves about this experience. A very exhilarating and unique experience! I'm very glad we went with AK Sled Dog Tours!
