Mush Your Own Sled Dog Team (Summer/Fall Tour)

Overview

This is the only place in Alaska where you can mush your own team of dogs in the summer!

This is not a just a tour kennel; it is the training grounds and homestead of 4-time Iditarod champion, Dallas Seavey. All the dogs are either retired racing dogs (many have won the Iditarod), are currently on the race team, or are the next generation in training to become the next great champions! Our dogs are active and training year-round. As a guest musher here, you become part of Dallas Seavey Racing's year-round training program.

The group size for this experience is usually 6 or less people, with a guide assigned to each group, creating a very personal experience.

All of our dogs are extremely friendly, and love attention. Cuddle puppies, romp with young dogs, or walk with champions.

This was my favorite tour of our alaska trip so far! Our tour guide was amazing and the dogs were so sweet and fun to be around. Mushing our own team was the best, unique experience. We got to drive our own cart and it was a very personal experience. The trail was beautiful and they really let you get a hands on experience. Would recommend this stop to anyone.

This was an amazing adventure! Shawn and Chad were skilled and knowledgeable. The dogs were so fun. So many personalities. All eager for an ear scratch. Shawn and Chad obviously loves the dogs and racing in the Iditarod. This is a must do when in Talkeetna!! You will not be disappointed!!

Amazing experience. The dogs are so friendly and they just love to run! Mushing was an exhilarating experience and we learned so much about the Iditarod. The guides were very knowledgeable and made the whole experience terrific!
