Mush Your Own Sled Dog Team (Summer/Fall Tour)

Overview

This is the only place in Alaska where you can mush your own team of dogs in the summer!

This is not a just a tour kennel; it is the training grounds and homestead of 4-time Iditarod champion, Dallas Seavey. All the dogs are either retired racing dogs (many have won the Iditarod), are currently on the race team, or are the next generation in training to become the next great champions! Our dogs are active and training year-round. As a guest musher here, you become part of Dallas Seavey Racing's year-round training program.

The group size for this experience is usually 6 or less people, with a guide assigned to each group, creating a very personal experience.

All of our dogs are extremely friendly, and love attention. Cuddle puppies, romp with young dogs, or walk with champions.

Such an adrenaline rush to feel the power of these dogs! I was a little intimidated at first, but Sean gave a great safety talk, and Anya paced us and kept an eye on us in lead. Worth every penny.

This was by far the highlight of our trip to Alaska! We came to Dallas Seavy’s kennel intentionally, based on a friend’s recommendation and it did not disappoint! The staff were friendly and helpful. We learned so much about the sport of mushing, the history of the Seavy family’s success, and most importantly about the careful care taken with these beautiful canine athletes! We had the opportunity to play with a litter of puppies, and even drive our own team of highly trained sled dogs led by one of the reigning champions from Dallas’ team! This is the only place YOU can drive a sled. An incredible experience and one we would repeat again and again.
