Mush Your Own Sled Dog Team (Summer/Fall Tour)

Overview
This is the only place in Alaska where you can mush your own team of dogs in the summer!

This is not a just a tour kennel; it is the training grounds and homestead of 4-time Iditarod champion, Dallas Seavey. All the dogs are either retired racing dogs (many have won the Iditarod), are currently on the race team, or are the next generation in training to become the next great champions! Our dogs are active and training year-round. As a guest musher here, you become part of Dallas Seavey Racing's year-round training program.

The group size for this experience is usually 6 or less people, with a guide assigned to each group, creating a very personal experience.

All of our dogs are extremely friendly, and love attention. Cuddle puppies, romp with young dogs, or walk with champions.

The tour was super well organized and every team member was so friendly and genuinely seemed to love hosting us. We met/pet the dogs and puppies, mushed with our own team of dogs (2 people per "sled"), toured the property and learned so much about the Iditarod race, race training and the life of the dogs. A big shout out to our guide Anya who was so friendly and fun and most patient with all our questions.

Well organized excursion. Start to finish. Was able to book and pay by phone in a few minutes, and everything went according to schedule, allowing us to get back to Talkeetna in time for a second activity. Visited the home, Kennel and training ground for the Iditarod champion. About 90 Alaskan huskies and eight puppies. Great safety orientation to explain the land sled. And the four dog team gave us an exhilarating ride. Two of our guides were mushers themselves and one had competed in the Iditarod. Chloe was passionate and very well informed about the sport. Made it a very engaging experience. And the squealy puppies were adorable too. The whole team were clearly enjoying their work and made it fun for all.
